Lemu Earth SpA (hereinafter the “Company” or simply “Lemu”, interchangeably) takes the privacy and protection of its Users' Personal Data very seriously. For this reason, your Personal Data is stored securely and processed with the utmost care, in accordance with current regulations on personal data protection.
This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) describes how Lemu collects, uses, protects, and shares the Personal Data of individuals who access, use, or contract its platform, Lemu Atlas (the “Service” or the “Platform”).
Please read this Policy carefully and, before using the Platform, explicitly accept the conditions set forth herein through the section enabled for this purpose on the Platform.
1. Definitions
Personal Data: Data about a living individual who can be identified from that data (or from that data and other information either in our possession or likely to come into our possession).
Usage Data: Data collected automatically, generated by the use of the Service or from the Service infrastructure itself (for example, the duration of a page visit or the use of specific features of the Platform).
Cookies: Small files stored on the User’s device (computer or mobile device) to save and store information such as, for example, past preferences or how the User previously interacted with the Platform.
Data Controller: A natural or legal person (either alone or jointly with others) who determines the purposes for which and the manner in which any Personal Data is, or will be, processed. For the purposes of this Policy, we are the Data Controller of your Personal Data.
Data Processors (or Service Providers): Any natural or legal person who processes data on behalf of the Data Controller. We may use the services of various Service Providers to process your data more efficiently.
2. Information We Collect
2.1. Personal Data
We may collect the following Personal Data:
- Full name, email address, role, organization, country.
- Login credentials and account activity.
- Files or data voluntarily uploaded to the Platform (e.g., shapefiles, geospatial points, monitoring results).
- Cookies, IP address, browser type, device, logs, and metadata.
- Data associated with API integrations.
2.2. Usage Data and Analytics
We may also collect information on how the Platform is accessed and used (Usage Data). This Usage Data may include information such as your computer’s Internet Protocol address (e.g., IP address), browser type, browser version, the pages you visit on our Service, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers, and other diagnostic data.
2.3. Cookies and Tracking Data

3. How We Collect your Personal Data
Lemu may obtain information directly from the User at the time of registration on the Platform and/or when the User sends inquiries via email to support@le.mu or other addresses designated by Lemu. We may also collect information from the User periodically, such as each time they interact with us. Additionally, Lemu may obtain User information from external sources in order to offer the requested services through the Platform.
The User understands and accepts that Lemu may establish new mechanisms in the future for collecting such information.
This Personal Data will be incorporated into an automated database for which the Company is the Data Controller. All form fields must be completed (unless expressly stated otherwise on the form); omission of required fields may result in our inability to fulfill the User’s service request.
4. General Purposes of Processing
The data is processed for the following purposes:
- To provide, operate, and maintain the Service.
- To create and manage User accounts.
- To execute contracted features and functionalities.
- To provide technical support and respond to inquiries.
- To comply with legal and contractual obligations, and to enforce the User’s contractual obligations.
- To analyze usage patterns in order to improve the product.
- To offer personalized recommendations or relevant updates (with prior consent). The use of the User’s Personal Data for these purposes may be suspended at the User’s request by sending a communication to support@le.mu.
The User acknowledges and agrees that the use of their information as described above is necessary for the proper functioning of the Platform. Therefore, if the information is inaccurate, unavailable, incomplete, or outdated, Lemu may suspend or terminate the User’s access to the Platform at its sole discretion.
5. Processing for Statistical and Segmentation Purposes
By explicitly accepting this Policy upon accessing the Platform, the User consents to the processing of their data for profiling and segmentation purposes. Please note that we use the Google Analytics Demographic and Interest Reporting tool. These processing activities may include both statistical analysis to understand Platform traffic and usage, and the identification of preferences and interests for the delivery of promotional information from Lemu, sponsors, or third parties.
Specifically, by accepting this Privacy Policy, the User consents to their data being associated with online identifiers provided by their devices, applications, tools, and protocols—such as IP addresses, session identifiers in the form of cookies, or other identifiers. These identifiers may leave traces which, particularly when combined with unique identifiers and other data received by servers, may be used to profile and identify individuals.
By explicitly accepting this Policy, the User expressly consents to the use of their data for profiling and segmentation purposes by Lemu and its affiliates. If the User disagrees with this type of processing, they are kindly requested to deactivate their account and stop using the Services.
6. Legal Bases for Processing
The processing of Personal Data is based on one or more of the following legal grounds:
- Execution of a contract or pre-contract (e.g., access to Atlas).
- Explicit consent from the User.
- Lemu’s legitimate interest in improving the service and preventing fraud.
- Compliance with a legal obligation.
7. Who We Share Information With
7.1. Service Providers
Lemu may share certain User information with third parties involved in providing the services used by the User, as well as with third-party providers of Lemu—such as bulk email service companies or others—in order to provide better service to the User.
7.2. Authorities
Lemu will provide User information as permitted and/or required by law or to judicial and/or regulatory entities that request such information from Lemu.
Outside of the cases described herein, we do not sell, rent, or transfer your Personal Data to third parties without your consent.
8. Data Disclosure
8.1. Business Transactions
If Lemu is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your Personal Data may be transferred. You will be notified prior to such transfer and asked to provide your consent before your data becomes subject to a new Privacy Policy, which must also be accepted by Users.
8.2. Legal Requirements
Lemu may disclose your Personal Data in good faith if it believes such action is necessary to:
- Comply with a legal obligation.
- Prevent or investigate possible violations related to the Service or Platform.
- Protect the personal safety of Users of the Platform.
8.3. Consent
The User declares that they have been informed of the terms and conditions regarding the protection of their Personal Data, and that they accept and consent to the processing of such data by the Company, in the manner and for the purposes stated in this Privacy Policy.
9. Your Rights Regarding Your Personal Data
You may exercise the following rights at any time, as established by applicable regulations:
9.1. Right of Access: To obtain confirmation of whether we are processing your data and to access it.
9.2. Right of Rectification: To request the correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
9.3. Right to “be forgotten”: To request the deletion of your Personal Data when it is no longer necessary, when consent has been withdrawn, or in cases of unlawful processing.
9.4. Right to Data Portability: To receive your data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format, and to transfer it to another Data Controller if you so wish.
9.5. Right to Restrict Processing: To request that your data not be used while its accuracy, legality, or processing basis is under review.
9.6. Right to Object: To object to the processing of your data based on legitimate interests or statistical purposes, unless there are compelling legitimate grounds.
9.7. Right to Withdraw Consent: You may withdraw your consent at any time. This does not affect the legality of prior processing activities.

10. Data Retention
Your Personal Data will be retained for only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy or while a valid contractual relationship is in place. Once that relationship ends, your data will be deleted or anonymized, unless applicable laws require longer retention (e.g., for legal compliance or dispute resolution).
11. Security Measures
Lemu uses physical and electronic safeguards, along with internal procedures and practices, to protect Users’ information. These include data encryption technologies and other protective tools to secure the data provided by the User on the Platform and stored in the Platform’s databases.
Security technologies include firewalls and intrusion detection systems to protect servers from third-party attacks or hacking attempts. Lemu conducts regular security testing to ensure the Platform provides a safe environment for its Users.
Key measures include:
- Encryption of data in transit and at rest.
- Secure authentication and access controls.
- Backups and infrastructure redundancy.
- Vulnerability detection systems.
- Internal incident response protocols.
However, the User understands that no security system on the Internet is completely infallible.
12. Minors
The Platform is not intended for individuals under 18 years of age. We recommend activating parental controls to prevent and monitor access by minors, and to educate minors about online safety.
If we identify that information has been collected from a minor without appropriate authorization, we will promptly delete it in accordance with applicable law.
13. International Data Transfers
Your information, including Personal Data, may be transferred to—and maintained on—computers located outside your state, province, country, or other governmental jurisdiction where data protection laws may differ from those in your own jurisdiction.
If you are located outside of Chile and choose to provide us with information, please note that we transfer the data, including Personal Data, to the United States and process it there. Your acceptance of this Privacy Policy, followed by your submission of information, constitutes your agreement to such transfer.
Lemu will take all reasonably necessary steps to ensure your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Policy. No transfer of your Personal Data will occur to any organization or country unless adequate controls are in place to protect your data and related personal information.
14. Communications
Lemu will send notifications to the User via email and/or through Lemu’s internal messaging system, related to the use of services offered on the Platform.
Lemu reserves the right not to send all communications via email. Some messages may be delivered exclusively through the Platform’s internal messaging system, at Lemu’s discretion.
15. Recommendations to Keep Your Account Secure
15.1. Password
For security, it is recommended that Users change their passwords frequently. Users must not share their password with third parties, as it is for the exclusive use of the account holder.
15.2. Security Measures
Keep an up-to-date antivirus software installed on your device to ensure it is free from malware or spyware that could compromise your navigation or the data stored on your device.
16. Acceptance and Changes to the Policy
Upon accessing the Platform, the User will be presented with the option to explicitly accept this Privacy Policy through the designated section of the Platform, thereby providing informed and express consent for the automated processing of their Personal Data.
Nonetheless, the User may revoke consent at any time by notifying support@le.mu.
Lemu reserves the right to revise this Privacy Policy at any time it deems necessary. In such cases, Users will be properly notified and prompted to provide renewed consent for any changes.
